Brawijaya University Solemnly Holds 53rd KORPRI Anniversary Ceremony Amidst Heavy Rain

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a ceremony to commemorate the 53rd Anniversary of the Indonesian Civil Servant Corps (KORPRI) on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the UB Rectorate Field. The ceremony began at exactly 07.00 WIB and was led directly by the UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc., which was attended by the entire UB academic community.

In his speech, Prof. Widodo emphasized the importance of KORPRI’s role in creating a professional and integrity-based bureaucracy, especially in higher education. “Through the momentum of KORPRI’s anniversary, we are invited to continue to strengthen our dedication in serving the nation, especially in producing a young generation that is globally competitive,” he said.

However, the atmosphere of the ceremony changed when heavy rain suddenly poured over the campus area. Even so, the participants’ spirits remained high. By wearing umbrellas and using bags to cover their heads, the ceremony participants continued to follow the event until it finished. Some participants who did not bring rain gear looked for temporary shelter around the field, such as under shady trees and the UB Library Gazebo.

The heavy rain that accompanied the ceremony did not reduce the solemnity and spirit of the KORPRI Anniversary commemoration. In fact, this moment became a symbol of the resilience and dedication of all UB academics in maintaining the values of devotion and service that are the core of KORPRI.

With the spirit of the 53rd KORPRI Anniversary, Brawijaya University is committed to continuing to support excellent public services and supporting the advancement of national education.
